2k+ in Iron Hands done.

Here is my 6th ed 2k Iron Hands list. The new rules I think will help it greatly. First off, the Techmarines with there Artificers Armor no can be used against Power Weapons which are now AP3, any terrain can be Bolstered Defences, and being able to Overwatch with the servo-harness with both a flamer and a plasma pistol can only help. I dropped down from a Razorback to a Rhino for my Tac Squads due the the ability to Snap Shot while it has moved makes just as good as my Assault Cannon almost but for much cheaper. Thunderfire Cannons got better in two ways, first is that they are now no longer vehicles but T7 W2 3+ Sv. Next is with the mixed toughness rules, the unit is wounded on a T7 so the Techmarine has a little more staying power. Stormtalons are there for flyer defence though not being able to use one rule it introduced, Hover Mode, as it is only a flyer with no hover ability in the barb, and Escort since it needs to arrive within 6" of the unit it is escorting. So unless it is a Fast Skimmer or a vehicle going Cruising speed it can't do it as since it is only a Flyer now, it cannot go slower than 18". Lastly, the Terminators w/Crusader. The 2+ armor on the Terminators is more survivable now with Power Weapons being AP3. With Snap Shot, the Crusader can fire say, Hunter Killer Missile at full BS, the Multi-Melta with Power of the Machine Spirit at full BS, and Snap Shot the Assault Cannon and Hurricane Bolters as they are Twin-Linked on the first turn then move the Assault Cannon to full BS after that.

I am working on the Ironclad Dreadnaught w/Drop Pod and some Forgeworld Iron Armor Command Squad. After that, I plan to finish up with a unit of Sterngaurd w/Drop Pod to finish the Hands.

Small vehicles all done

Well, we now have both Stormtalons and 3 Razorbacks/Rhinos done to my tabletop quality. The only other small vehicles I have are at home, 2 Thunderfire Cannons, which will be added to my pictures once we get home. Next step, the name of my blog, 3 Land raiders, 2 Crusaders and I hope to be my centerpiece, the Achillies. The last of course will be done by my wife as she has much more talent for painting than I do.

My wife and I are almost done with my 2 Stormtalons while we are away at the cabin. This one just needs some touch ups and we will be on to my Landraiders.

First Post

I decided to finally start a blog about Warhammer 40k with 6th edition just one week away. I plan on over the coarse of this blog give you a background on my war gaming  history, my armies with what and why I have in it, and battle reports.
